History
FirstLight Federal Credit Union is a community financial cooperative dedicated to helping you and your families achieve financial security by providing accessible products, services, tools and education.

History

In 1955, nine pioneers developed a plan to help military and civilian personnel on Biggs Air Force Base have more access to credit and other financial services.

FirstLight is a community financial cooperative serving Fort Bliss and El Paso and Dona Ana Counties. From our humble beginnings in 1955, we have thoughtfully grown into a full-service financial institution serving over 100,000 members. With over one billion in assets, our "people helping people" philosophy has focused on financial wellness, education, and community to live our mission, "Improve Lives. Achieve Dreams". To advance these initiatives, the credit union formed the FirstLight Community Foundation, providing financial wellness workshops, fundraising scholarship funds for local students, and through grant initiatives, created programs to assist with home ownership.
